This is a great new website dedicated for new installations. After you’ve rebuilt a system, you select from a list of programs and it bundles up the programs to it’s own installer. 1 Click installs and downloads… makes my life alot easier.
Here’s the link!

Flu Trackers

Posted in Software, Website on October 28th, 2009 by – Be the first to comment

There are 2 major flu tracking websites out there currently. One for the general flu and one for H1N1. I’ve attached the links below.

http://flutracker.rhizalabs.com/ This one is for H1N1.

http://www.google.org/flutrends/us/ This one is for the general flu.

I can tell you first hand that I’ve seen co-workers taking more sick days this year than in many previous years. Some of it might just be the paranoia of sickness since the media is harping on it pretty bad this year.

Blackberry App World Update 1.1 = Fail

Posted in Software, Tech on August 12th, 2009 by Jahos – Be the first to comment

Blackberry Appworld cannot run applications from the “archive” aka microSD card. See below from their own FAQ’s. That might be the lamest workaround to an issue ever!

What happens if I archive an application?
If a BlackBerry smartphone user archives an application it is uninstalled and can no longer be used. However, the archived application may be restored for use at a later date.

Note: It is recommended that the application remain in “archived” status in My World and not be deleted or uninstalled otherwise the user must re-download the application and will incur data download charges.

Can I run applications from my external media card?
No, applications can only be stored on an external media card. BlackBerry smartphone users must restore an application that exists on an external media card to use it.

ROM – Runes of Magic

Posted in MMO, Software on August 3rd, 2009 by Jahos – Be the first to comment

It’s a free MMO. Some would say it’s a WOW clone, and much of it looks very similar but the mechanics are very different.

Best part of the game in my opinion is the Dual Class system. Getting bored with 1 class sucks, and re-rolling sucks even more, you can now select 2 classes on 1 character and swap classes when you want! You benefit from their skills as well.

WAR – 2nd Impressions

Posted in Games, Media, Software, Tech on September 11th, 2008 by J – Be the first to comment

If I could describe WAR in 1 word it would be “deep”. I don’t feel like i need to grind to the highest level right away. I am actually taking my time to Level, Rank up, and gain Influence. We all know what levels are, but what are the other two.

Each character has levels and ranks. Your ranks are tied to your RVR xp, the more Ranks the better armor you can use and the better your character will be. Not only is it smart to RVR from level 1 on, but it buffs your character and it’s fun! From RVR you get Renown points as well, you will get points you can throw into buffing your weapon skill (gets through armor) or strength, int, etc.

Getting influence in an area is another cool aspect. I mentioned about the Public Quests getting you loot and xp, well i left out how influence is another reward. Complete a few public quests to get influence, once maxed (you have a bar) you can get armor based off your influence that is far superior to  items your level.

More to come….

Cable -(lvl 8, R9) <– this is how people like to see you’re actual level :)

Back to the basics

Posted in Games, Media, Software, Tech on August 12th, 2008 by J – 1 Comment

AOC is dead.. yup, i just can’t wait for them to get a vision in the game. Saw that coming? Me too…

While I wait for Warhammer Online to come out Sept 18th, I decided to go back to my roots (originally EQ1) but now EQ2. I already sold my character via their “station exchange” 4 years ago. Now that I am back it’s really amazing how much it has changed. The character development, and general game-play has much improved. So I will enjoy this for the time being. Hopefully i won’t get too addicted… but we’ll see how that goes ;)
